Spock...with all the high quality coins and "Specimen" notes you have, does this mean that you are lowering your current standards? I was shocked to see this post, to be honest with you. I thought we were trying to build the best sets possible on our budgets..LOL RickieB
Spock - If those notes are not up to your standard I'm sure you could unload them and not lose anything in the transaction! DEAL
Also note the mismatched typefaces of the 'A' suffixes in the two serial numbers of the $20. The higher-crossbar 'A' that appears in the right-hand serial is normally found on the earliest small-size notes printed, and is decidedly uncommon by the time of the FRBN printings. I've been checking for these for some time now, and this is the first time I've seen the early 'A' on a 1929 Philly $20.... I don't think there are enough collectors looking for these typeface varieties that this would command a premium, but you never know, someday there may be.
Great information!!! I'm glad more and more people are posting in the paper section! - and Daggarjon - I think we both said the same thing just differently - so get in line buddy. All kidding aside - Good buy Spock...
Don't know a whole lot about paper money, but it would certainly be worth that much to me. Great deal. Also, I don't think I've ever seen and X in a serial number.
i dunno USS i can run fast, and im a scrapper lol we will have to see who gets to the front of the line first
The letters start over with each new series, so it's not often that a series runs long enough to get all the way up to X. The most recent times it happened were in the 1988A and 1995 $1's (which are largely out of circulation by now) and the 1996 $100's (because they printed a ton of that series to replace all the older-design $100's in circulation). The only letters that aren't used at all are O and Z. And even Z was used formerly, with the last time being on the 1957 $1 silvers.... If you go back far enough, you can even find a note with two X's in the serial numbers....
I would have bought them in a jiffy if I were you....So a great deal IMO:thumb:. Ofcourse if you later decide to upgrade; don't lose my address:whistle:. P.S. DJ and Darryl. You 2 can run a marathon to reach the front of the line but I'm gonna ride my bike.
