I was recently flipping through some old albums when I came across a 1982-p copper Large Date Cent, but the 2 in the Date looked odd. Here are some images of it: Could anyone explain what this is? I will post some more images once I can get my camera to focus. I don’t think that’s damage, because through my 10 years of collecting, I have never seen damage look like that. Thanks.
I have a planchette struck only on one side with the reverse of a quarter. It is a die error. It has reeding. It is larger than a regular quarter. But it weighs almost three-quarters of a gram less. Could it be from a planchette from another country? It is not clad seems to be silver.
For the best responses you should start a new thread with pictures. From your description though it sounds like it is just damaged.
I am no expert in errors (I specialize in all liberty seated coins) I would like to see pictures. I don’t really understand the description, so a visual would help.
I have seen this forum for quite some time now. I just needed some questions answered and this was my first choice. All of my coin stores are closed, so I figured the numismatic community could help me with my questions, and I want to become an active member of that community to help with other people’s questions as well.
New members frequently fail to post pictures on their first couple posts, not realizing the Forum is driven by pictures...and so we tell them: “Without pictures it doesn’t exist or didn’t happen”, or, “Without pictures this thread is useless”. Forum members can help extensively if pictures are posted properly...so now we wait to see if @Silver hound responds. @Silver hound ...welcome to Coin Talk. ...Spark
To post a picture on a mobile phone, you take the picture, then go into your photo library, press the ‘copy’ button, and then paste it wherever you please. EDIT: apologies, everyone. I pressed ‘reply’ on the wrong post.
I joined Coin Talk in Oct. 2017...I sat back and read, listened and learned for 3 months before posting any coins or pictures...I asked a lot of questions, though...Spark
I think I figured the photo thing out... just tell me if I mess up on anything, and I will learn as I go.
Have you had any updates on posting pictures? Your description (after I deciphered what was actually being said and not my caveman vocabulary) has intrigued me.
Yoo hoo! @Silver hound ! Welcome to the neighborhood. Have you figured out how to post photos yet? It would be best if you started your own thread. You could also "tag" @SamuelFred1 in the new thread so you don't keep him waiting here for a reply. ~ Chris
