A few more off center strikes

    I'm taken with the sheer quantity shown here. I have had one for 55 years and never encountered another. Is the mint getting sloppy about either making them or stopping them from leaving the mint?

    Simply, my point is in looking at the previous images of a ton of Lincoln cents, ie., newer coinage, it hit me that there seem to be so many of these 'out there' when decades ago, at least in my circle, they were much rarer - such as the penny I show. I was asking if people thought the mint was not making much of an effort to stop them from leaving the premises now as opposed to years ago.

    I see them now however that's not even half, I bought these from the son of an elderly man that has pass away. The son wanted someone who collects coins to have them and he chose me, I am extremely grateful to him

    Welcome to CT. You have a very nice off-center wheat cent, @stairstars. I think a lot more Lincoln pennies were minted compared to wheat, and therefore more Lincoln errors came out.

    I also have an off-center wheat example. It is a double struck wheat, both strikes off-center. :happy:
