Today I want to share a World Paper Money Album showing 30 Countries & Regions. This album was gifted to me by one of my best friends who I have mentioned before in older threads. Retired Army Sergeant Efrain "Cutthroat" Diaz who in the past has gifted me Paper Currency he obtained when he served during the Iraq war. There will be a lot of pictures! Here is the album cover with the protective sleeve.
Something to keep me occupied at home since they keep giving me days off.. (With pay).. Sharing my items with everyone!
@mlov43 This is included in this album. Any information you would like to share? 1978 North Korea.. It is a beautiful design and crisp.
Very nice collection! Thanks for sharing! A few corrections, however: The banknote in the Russian Federation slot is a Belarus 10 Ruble. This is a Russian 10 ruble, though they haven't been printed since 2010 due to their low denomination. In the Soviet Union slot, you have a Mavrodi MMM voucher. Sergei Mavrodi was a con artist who perpetrated a Ponzi scheme back in the 1990s. Here's a Soviet Ruble:
Very nice I have some Ho Chi Minh Trail Script that would fit in nicely to what you have already displayed, I will try and dig it out to post
It is a nice looking display. I would be concerned about the type of plastic it is in. It may not be good for the notes.
Hmm. Not really. I don't know much about NK currency. I know it's the 1978 series. When I lived in Seoul 25 years ago, a taxi driver got a 10-Won note from this series for a fare. He reported it to the police (getting paid for a service with NK money was not cool, I guess), and the story made it into the paper the next day.
The funny thing is, I think I know where that taxi customer got his NK 10-Won note. The weekend before I read that article, I went to the famous radio/TV tower in Seoul known as "Namsan Tower (real name: "N Seoul Tower") and on the observation deck there was a gift shop where I bought an entire set of these 1978 NK notes! Your 100-Won "Kim Il-sung" design and 10-Won "taxi fare" note included!
