I was just notified I won a BK auction for this bill. I didn't think I'd be able to add this one as the prices were always just out of my range.
Congrats, a very nice pick up. The US should go back to the Educational Notes. Young people today are really lacking where the history of our country is concerned.
Some politicians want to ban LuLu lemon sweat pants. I can't imagine them approving reissuing Educational Notes.
The front is very nice more then a 25 by the looks of it but its the reverse that brings it down a bit on the scale, and another good thing there are no adverse comments on the rear, looks like maybe a split that was repaired at the top hard to tell with out having the note in hand also what appears to be rust on the boarders.
I hear this often and somewhat agree, although I’m not sure how the older iconic designs would translate to the smaller notes. Some of today’s notes also have wonderful, historic vignettes.
I can’t afford any of these large older notes with fantastic designs. I love the artwork and the skill of the engravers. I buy the BEP Souvenir Cards. They are printed from original plates and are crisp and clear. Just beautiful examples without the cost. Most souvenir cards can be purchased for about $10 each. Check out the listings on eBay.
At auction it hammered at $450, and then buyer's premium and S/H fees=$527.45. I've been trying for quite a while now and they usual go for $800 to $1200, some higher as the grade goes up.
I can't really afford it either, but my birthday was on the 10th and my sister sent me money. LOL Aside from the souvenir cards, you can get very nice reproductions to fill your blanks.
Unless you are planning to cut out the notes from the card, that is going to be one heck of a big display!
If you meant Souvenir Cards, Ken Barr has many on his website http://www.kenbarr.com/souvcd.html and they regularly show up on eBay.
