Every 1909-S VDB that I have ever seen has an S on the obverse under the date. This one does not.:kewl:

    If that's the S , then it's not a S-VDB , That s is way to large and the wrong shape , good eyes rim's cents .

LOL! That's what they call the "Large S." Anyway, I thought it might be that smaller fuzzy blob just to the Northeast of that.

I have a 1909 VDB with the barest hint or impression of an S. It's clearly not a real S VDB; but I've wondered if it may have been altered in the past. Maybe someone added the S and it fell off? One of mfd's once had an 1893 s morgan slabbed by a major TPG in which the "s" was rattling around inside the holder.

here the s is vague and i am taking a best guess estimate and thats the reason i might not want to spend the $ to send it to PCGS

I'd wait on it :(, if you get more proof either way , you can always send it in later :D.

Sorry but there is nothing about this coin that makes me think S-VDB.

Aw, darn, I was really hoping. See, I've got one of those, too, except my S is sideways and above the date.
