Spock Every 1909-S VDB that I have ever seen has an S on the obverse under the date. This one does not.:kewl:
If that's the S , then it's not a S-VDB , That s is way to large and the wrong shape , good eyes rim's cents . rzage
LOL! That's what they call the "Large S." Anyway, I thought it might be that smaller fuzzy blob just to the Northeast of that.
I have a 1909 VDB with the barest hint or impression of an S. It's clearly not a real S VDB; but I've wondered if it may have been altered in the past. Maybe someone added the S and it fell off? One of mfd's once had an 1893 s morgan slabbed by a major TPG in which the "s" was rattling around inside the holder.
here the s is vague and i am taking a best guess estimate and thats the reason i might not want to spend the $ to send it to PCGS
i could wait but time is not on my side how about when we go to berks we show it there get their opinion and you submit the coin on my behalf that way when you get it back you can ship it to me if it turns out to be the big cheese ?
Aw, darn, I was really hoping. See, I've got one of those, too, except my S is sideways and above the date.
