I have this1972 lincoln cent with dropped elements on reverse. First, there is a 2 under the R in america, a 7 under "of" diagonally and a Y in middle the V in the M and a T between the M and E in america.the 2 and 7 is from the date on obverse and the Y and T is from liberty on obverse. I hope the pics are clear enough for you guys to see. Dropped elements can fall from obverse die to reverse die in very rare instances. Look closely at pics.
Wow! Every coin i see online is magnified so you can see the details. This example from coin world is magnified. How else will you see the details?
The only thing that dropped is our IQs from reading your consistently pathetic posts. You claim to have decades of experience. (Though i am sure you are under 40.) Just so you know, the length of time you study is meaningless. (There is also a difference between researching and studying. Clearly you research nothing, and studying involves more than looking at coins, which is all you do.) There is no way you could read Mike Diamond's columns, Fred Weinberg's books, Alan Herbert's books, or Jon Sullivan's articles and assert with laughable regularity the incredibly stupid things you say (both as @rascal and @Avery G. ) and how you come to your conclusions. I actually unblocked you and @rascal because you make a great teaching resource on what ignorant collectors say and do. You guys have provided me with 14 slides of your garbage coins and hilarious comments. Keep it up!
I agree totally. I showed the coin to my wife and without saying anything she saw what i see. It has to be the pics.
No wonder, as every coin contains an error. Either your wife loves you very much, she doesn't want to cause trouble or your disease is contagious. This is not an error coin. There are no dropped anything on this coin.
Read Alan Herbert's book that deal with the Price Guide for Mint Errors. You might actually learn something finally. Every serious error collector has read it
I outlined what i see, so look inside the outline. Keep in mind it was struck by the "o and f". I can see the 7 clearly and i have 20/15 vision.
First off I'm not Avery but I would rather be called Avery any day than Jcro57 . I think every one that downed this coin and Avery owes Avery a apology for the way we treated him so Avery I do apologize .Let's see how many more is man enough to apologize to Avery . Guess what after seeing these new photos it is plain as day his coin does have a mint error after all. You other members are not even looking at some folks photos and their descriptions. It is either a super strong die clash or has major die transfer. I would love to see this coin in hand
