I picked up a small coin recently. Gallic denier, Rhone Valley; 75 – 51 BC. The coin is a bit outside of my collecting area. I am hoping someone here knows where I can find an on line link to the plates mentioned on the tag. I have found a set of the books, but I do not want to pay $100 for one of the 4 books in the set.

CELTIC GAUL, Rhone Valley, Allobroges (others say Voconces, Southern Gaul, DVRNACOS & Durnacos/Auscro), 75 – 51 BC. Silver BRI-COMA Quinarius (called denarius or drachm by others).
Obv - Helmeted head of Roma facing right. Not much of the dot border is on coin. The top of two letters are on the coin – BR(?). Some have a BRI to the right of Roma.
Rev - Warrior on horseback galloping to the right, the cape flying over shoulder, holding a spear in his right hand. Legend C[OMA] below. Note – only top part of C is on coin.
    2.16 grams; 12.36 X 14.42 mm oval; 6 H
Grade VF+; centered on small flan; good strike; small oval flan caused significant parts of obv & rev to be missing; Style is typical of type, interesting & more realistic than most Celtic coins; toned; no environmental damage & minimal wear
Reference: delaTour – 5820 This is the seller’s reference #. Wildwinds and several dealers use the initials DF, delaTour or other similar letters.
I found several BRI COMA coins on line. The CBG archives have 67 - search for BRI COMA -

Sometimes I like these Gallic imitations, and sometimes not. Yours is a very nice example.

Thanks for the link! Plate XVII, #5820 is a good fit, but not a die match, for my coin.
