I love contemporary counterfeits but never even thought of collecting by die variety

I've probably unintentionally collected enough counterfeits to start intentionally collecting them.

I'm gonna have to go to the big box hardware store and buy another bookshelf. Yay!

    of course!

each counterfeit piece has a 'die' that is individually made.

Some are common, and many are scarce to very rare

Stop by after this disaster is over & I'll show you some books.

I just realized, I have to contact Keith for the 2nd edition.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

While counterfeits never did it for me, there are a group of quite passionate people who collect these.

And, Mr. Davignon already wrote the book!

Somewhat off topic, but is it not unlawful to possess counterfeit US coinage?

It is illegal to attempt to pass/sell as real, but as long as it was manufactured/imported prior to the passage of the Hobby Protection Act of 1973 simple possession is perfectly legal.

Thanks. For some reason I had thought that just being in possession of counterfeit US money was unlawful.
