Hello everyone, with lots of time on my hands I've decided to look at some of my coins. I came across some war nickels and did some research on youtube, and goodness it's so confusing I want to know which nickels are silver. I have two 1942 P (I'm assuming cause there is no P on the nickel and just want to know is this a silver coin as well? I have other nickels that have a P & D above the Monticello but the 1942 does not. From what I've read the silver nickels were minted from 1942 - 1945 right?

Would like your opinions please. Thank you!

In 1942 there were regular issues and then war issues.
There were also proofs strikes in both nickel and the war time silver.

The silver Nickels have a large mintmark above the dome.
