Hi, guys I have a 1935 Buffalo Nickel that I would really love some help with. I can't tell if the mint mark is a D or an S any help would be appreciated. I believe it may be an S but not 100% sure.

Well, it certainly looks like an S in your 550 photograph. The 627 photo is worse but it looks like a D in that one.

I cropped them and blew them up (attached) but I can't make any different conclusion. You might try better photographs.

What a striking difference. It looks like two different buffalos.

The MMs do look like different coins but I checked on various marks and they appear to be the same on both images of the reverse such as the horizontal scratch below and to the right of the bison's beard. OTOH, the (C)ENT looks different.

Michelle, not to be insulting, but are you sure these reverse photos are of the same coin?

MMS-002aa.jpg S you can tell by knowing mint mark styles, the S from 1918 to 1937 looked like this ... also notice placement.
The the 1935 D mint mark style looked like this.....

Again notice placement as to if it's possible that the mm is why you believe it to be! Just another way around to find the correct answer.

I was in the same place a Publius. Again, not being critical, but sharper images would remove most (all?) doubt. You may want to browse photo taking techniques here at CT to improve your picture taking. Your not far off, but the photos were a bit out of focus and some taken on an angle. You want to take head-on shots unless the subject of the photo requires it (e.g., capturing the side of the rim).

    I agree with S mint.

Look here at the placement and the mm style as you can even see the heavy serifs on the S and here you can compare the two

S or D? To a serious collector, your Buffalo nickels are just hole fillers for the shape they are in. No offense, but I wouldn't keep either. At least the dates are readable.
