I have the opportunity to purchase this coin, I obviously have my doubts, but from the pics sent to me I can’t say it’s not fake. It’s not magnetic, weighs a hair over 3g and isn’t a shaved 8 so I was curious what you all might think from the pic alone? I know it’s not the best pic

    I wonder..
Why would anyone want to sell that if They say it is legit?

    How much?

You can't really tell to well with that picture.

The last genuine copper 43 cent that sold created quite a lot of press not to mention sold for a lot of money. Knowing that the Chinese have created a lot of convincing fakes. And knowing the potential value is six figures.... I wonder why that coin hasn't been certified?

Everything about this is sketchy for the reasons already mentioned.
Have you examined the coin in person, or is this just what the seller is claiming?

#33/40, too. Love to see the others;) My vote is for Chinese fake; even from the terrible photo it looks off in both Date and Portrait.

And I don't trust any numismatist who can't spell "error".

If it's legit it should be encased in plastic.

And then encased in a SDB, in its turn encased by brick and mortar bank;)

I would tell the seller to send it in for authentication at your expense. If it comes back real, pay the agreed price, otherwise . . . RUN.

My fake. The 3 appears similar. Check the rim for roughness if same artist.
I also question every thing you mention. Offer $4, I think that is twice original if a fake. Jim

Make sure to wash the Covid off of it once it gets here from China.
