1955 Lincoln bie variety question.

    Is this considered a bie variety, die chip or are both the same? Thanks for your time, patience and information.;)

    Poor man's doubled die on the date.
    Not sure on the E. Either a die chip or a retained lamination. I wouldn't consider it a BIE variety.

    Looks like a die chip IMO. I wouldn't call it a BIE, but sometimes people can get a little loose with the definition. I don't think you would too much criticism if you include it with a collection of BIEs considering it's location

    Oh boy, sounds like an inbetween and would have to call definition as you are flipping coin. Get it?...jk...lol

    Yes it is a BIE. It's in both the Cohen & Hardy Index Cross references: Cohen 55-B109, Hardy 55P-4SBL+4. Listed on COC as LDB4-1955-002C 4SBL+
