can you explain the mistake in the 8 please

This 1978 silver Mexican 100 peso coin seems to have a badly struck 8. I have checked all my other Mexican coins and none have the same. Maybe some of you have come across this.I have no idea about coin errors and what they might do to collectability and value, so i bow to your superior knowledge

That is or was the script used no error, no die chip it's how the date was designed.
