As I am in the process of changing to a new system, from albums and 2x2 flips to quadrum capsules and coin boxes, I have recently had coins in hand that I haven’t held for over 10 years.
Holding this thick and heavy (compared to the denarius) coin in hand, I remembered how impressed I was first time I got it. My favorites also change a lot, but this is always on top ten:

    Awww, thank you :)
The style on the portraits varies a lot on these. I quite enjoy the level of detail on mine.

I can see why this coin is one of your favorites. The portraits on your Janus head are different and well done. One day, I will need to add an incuse ROMA on a raised tablet to my collection.

Yours is a great Heavy Denarius, @svessien ! Beautiful specimen. I am a big fan of this Era in Roman History, as it represents their nadir...

I have a few, here is one similar to yours:

Very nice coin. It’s a very interesting era with many different types. I really like the type that Bing posted, but I don’t have it myself. I’ve been quite inconsistent in choice of area to collect. The last 7-8 years it’s been silver coinage from late republic to Arcadius, but I’m considering a break from that. There are so many nice coins, and it’s very stimulating to see the angles all of you have to collecting.

@svessien , I have a similar one as @Bing 's... really enjoy it, as it is the first AR coin minted by ROme. Speculated to have paid for the building of the Via Appia and the Aquaduct Appia...
