If Internet was here 100 years ago~Coin advice?

If the internet was around 100 years ago and there were forums such as CoinTalk what would people be talking about?

Just assume everything else is the same but the internet is alive and thriving in 1908.

Can you imagine the discussions?

Feel free to expound I'll toss a few "scenarios" out.

Question: How do I preserve my coins?
Answer: Lacquer does a great job! My dad has used it for years!.

WOW! You guys won't believe this but I just found my third 1856 Flying Eagle Cent in circulation. Kinda dirty so I'll clean it up like the others!

Why don't they just make them all gold. These darn Morgan dollars are just to cumbersome.

Man this 1895 Proof Morgan is a little hazy , Think I'll take a little of that new fangled baking powder , mix it with some water and clean it .

This Panama Pacific exhibition will never come to anything. And the commemorative coins are just ugly! Besides, who has $100+ to blow on ugly, modern coins?

 

Next year the mint is coming out with a new Lincoln cent design. Should I put a few aside? :smile

Think I'l take a nap till 1916 , then I'll pick up a couple of rolls of dimes while I'm in Denver , then another nap till 1917 and pick up some of those quarters dated 1916 .

 

just finished a little gold prospecting up north. Didn't find much. Went to the bank in San Fransisco and they gave me a bag full of new pennies. Should I keep them or buy that pick that I need?

Well I just spent my silver dollar collection. Yup went to the Buick dealer and gave him $756 in coin for a brand new Buick.

 

Am I the only odd one to think that some crooks would use it for something like:

"How to make a nickel worth 100 times more!!! READ!"

I have some 20 1909 S VDBs but I think I'll keep one and spend the rest. I still miss the IHCs.

This quarter roll searching is getting old. I'm just trying to keep my set current and it seems all I get is 96-S and 01-S.

I think world war is comming soon. The transportation technology is out of this world well what the heck nothing can surpass my horse buggy. And by the way my barber today shaved me really dull and my face is sore, and on top of that he gave me 4 rolls of these new lincoln cents and as you all know I love coins and was hoping to get some thing rare but instead I got four rolls of 1909 S and on the back it says (VDB). Well so long my barber and for the rolls they aaaaint gona be laying around in my barn and I know exactly what to do with them and that is stash of hey for my girls and oh yea a new barber for me. Gosh I have a long trip waiting for me tomorrow and I don't know if my buggy will make it due to the fracture in the wheel and the rubber around is kinda kinky. I have almost 4 miles to cover and then I have to make it back the same day seems almost impossible and those Jeranimos on the other side of the hill they will shoot at almost any thing moving. Our sheriff B-hut is closed for almost 6 months I think he moved to Arkansas yea Arkansas is another territory somewhere in the wilderness and I doubt if he ever made it safe.
I miss those old days.

My cousin Vinnie works for Sunshine Biscuits in Jersey. They're coming out with this cookie this year.

So I'm putting all my bucks in that. Even selling some of the modern crap I've been holding on to thinkin' "It'll be worth somethin' some day" - Yah! Right!
