From the Antwerp mint. The date is rough but readable.

A very rare piece. Less than 4 collectible. A few tied
    up in museum collections.

    Good job, @Santinidollar .
That's the sweet spot for the 1907 IHE.
A carefully selected MS62 is payable and shows good eye appeal. Well done;)

Just curious...does anybody here have any self-imposed limits on the PREMIUM to gold bullion that you will pay for a coin based on financial or numismatic (investment potential) reasons ?

    200% ? 500% ? 1,000% ?

Only from a risk-management point of view (not putting too many eggs in one basket). But if someone offers me, say, a 1921 Saint in AU for just 1000% over gold bullion, I'm going to find a way to make it work.

It all depends on the coin. I do not collect for investment/ just for fun. Here is a Roman one....
AV Aureus ND Ticinum Mint 5.64g. 20mm. 2 known FDC
    Constantius I Chlorus 305/6AD
    I paid 9K Swissfrancs 10000% over bullion value:happy: IMG_0072.JPG IMG_0073.JPG

I buy old gold US coins based on the numismatic appeal to me — as well as, of course, if I feel I can afford it. For investment purposes, I buy American Gold Eagles, unslabbed and ungraded.
