Speaking of swastika coins in auction, here is a beautifully toned one in auction right now.

I agree with you on porn, it does NOT belong on eBay. Porn is generally believed to appeal to the indecent prurient interests of individuals, whilst collectables have a whole other sphere in the emotions.

Nice coin, lovely colouring. Bung ugly swastika. A while back I bought a 20 RM note from 1939, for the image of the young fraulein:

Can you believe some fool designed such a lovely note, well actually stole the theme of the design from Austria(a proposed 100 Schilling note) and then put that stupid spider swastika on it to pollute it?

I think Yahoo! started all this mess about selling Nazi memorabilia. In 2000 they were found guilty of violating French law by allowing French surfers to access auctions of Nazi items (French law prohibits the exhibition or sale of racist materials). Since the items were available to French people, French law had jurisdiction. Yahoo! argued it could not comply and it could have faced $13,000 a day fines (though probably not enforceable based on jurisdiction). This was one of the landmark cases of internet law. Ultimately United States Free Speech laws won out, but Yahoo! had to place warnings on auctions (story on pgs 70-72 of "Legal Aspects of Managing Technology," 4th edition, by Burgunder).

International internet sales are very complex, so E-bay is not entirely at fault here. But they are a little... :p
