New silver pickups

I got all these at a coin shop yesterday for a percentage of spot. I think it's a great deal as they all should have more numismatic value. Here's the non-British group.

nice lot. Mexico coins have really became popular. Great way to collect and often nice coins hide in these lots. Plus there is silver and one cant go wrong stacking at near melt.

 

I've been collecting Mexican coins since the beginning but at first I was just trying to fill holes. Now I'm trying to upgrade to some nicer examples. When you have attractive designs you want to appreciate them in their full glory.

Reminds me of earlier days (30 years ago) I had a pawn shop owner offer me
a Mexico Coin Type Set in a Dansco Album Complete AU & UNC for $225.
I recall borrowing the cash from my parents and paying it back in installments.
A really beautiful set, I spent the next 5 years upgrading AU to UNC.
Hard times unfortunately forced me to sell the collection, but was able to double my investment.
Too bad, so sad, but the way the cookie...

I love the half crowns and that 1913 3 mark is probably my favorite modern German coin.

 

Great set. I love world silver. I have been trying to get one of those Finnish 10 Markkaas for ages. My goal with world silver is at or below spot and I have yet to snag one for that.

 

The Finnish coin was a really unusual look and that's what caught my eye.
