    Check this one out... not sure what you’d call this. Am I seeing things or does it look like a 3 was stamped beneath the 5 and they tried to cover it up? What’s up with the extra metal lines on the reverse at the base of the branch on the left?     No.

    You can clearly see the striations on the field caused by a worn die so that is a Die Chip on the date. It is not an overdate. You are over thinking it.

    Honest question - whens the last time there was a legitimate overdate on a US coin? I feel like that's very much a 20th-century thing

    1960 and 1960D Large over small date cents.

    However, if you're looking for different years, I believe it's the 1943/2 Nickel. Right before that was the 1942/1 and 1942/1D Dime. Both during WWII

    I'm not seeing a 3 anywhere under the 5 ??
