I found this piece at a local thrift shop that I frequent often enough. I spied it yesterday but didn’t buy. I slept on it and compulsively had to go in today to make it mine. I didn’t have much hope that it would still be available. It was! It’s mine now, yay! Lol. Researching was a choir but I finally found an example for sale on eBay, only, the seller had only the larger piece of the two piece set. $60 US plus $40 shipping. I purchased my set for $15 CAD and no tax. My set doesn’t have any identification sticker on the underside but its shadow is plain. The eBay seller says their set is from the 1960’s. Is it? I dunno, I just like it! The Endeavour coin is one of my absolute favourite coin designs. Did I do good? Lol. Would you ostracize me from the club if I took them out of their encasement? Lol. I don’t plan on it but it did cross my mind. Happy belated Leap Year Day btw.
I don't know to make of this is it a paperweight of some kind? I'm guessing it was likely sold as a souvenir at one time. Nonetheless, I like it, and it should make a great decoration.
The eBay seller called theirs a hanging plate, however, there are no hooks. It isn’t a very heavy piece neither, a couple of really good sneezes and I’m sure it would flutter off into the wind. I’ll probably just put them both on a stand and display them. I just wish I knew the date of the coins.
@Devyn5150 if I had to guess the dates of your coins I’d guess they'd be pre-1988 due to the presence of both the 1 cent and 2 cent pieces.
