Newbee to all of this :)

Just got back from a trip to DC and while at the Bureau of engraving bought an uncut sheet of 8 X $20 dollar star notes.

They start with GA00096956* and end with GA00180956*

Is it true that the GA series are worth more ?

I don't have a price on the sheets but according to the 8th Edition of Small-Sized US Paper Money for the GA-* series:

There were only 384,000 of those notes ending with the last serial number of "GA 000384000 *". Unfortunately there is only 1 condition of the pricing for that series of serial numbers - in Choice Crisp Uncirculated (CHCU) they are valued at $100 apiece. That is just a printed value and I am not sure if that is high or low for that series.

Nice notes by the way. I hope to acquire a few sheet...that is one thing I don't own yet......:thumb:

Looking at various charts, 384,000 Star Notes were made in the 2004 A $20 Series.

The GA series is pretty rare in the Star Note Category, considering that many star notes produced in the last couple of series are in the Millions.

I would definitely hold onto the uncuts, because considered the star note value as well as the rarity value.

Thanks for the input....looks like I did OK.
They get quite a premium at the BPE for
    the sheets. :)

I bought a sheet of these as well a while ago....they will always be woth what you paid. Stars make em attractive as well as the SN's.

I have a sheet of 4 and the first one has a00000756*....

Keep them and keep your bare oily fingers off them as well...LOL :D
