I am no grammar nazi policeman. But do I officially out myself as a "get off my lawn" old man if I point out the lack of punctuation? (hopefully I mispeled something so I can be made fun of)
@Misspriss ...it very well could have been painted with a silver-colored or zinc substance. There are many kinds. Welcome to Coin Talk. You will learn a lot here if you have more patience...go and read the links provided on posts #17 and #20...Spark
...and take your time on your friends’ grandfathers collection, it deserves your due diligence and patience...Spark
You can easily verify your coin by simply scratching the edge to remove the plating and see that it is copper underneath.
First off I shorten my words on purpose not because I can't spell and second off if you can't be a mature adult with your comments on any of my posts then please do us both a favor and ignore them I'm not on this to deal with childish jerks that simple comment only to be a smarta** and rude because they think they know it all I'm on here to discuss coins talk coins and even learn about coins when need to so if you can't be a civilized mature adult with your comments on any of my posts then please take ur nonsense somewhere else because you will be ignored an deleted meaning you will not succeed in bothering me with your rude immature crap got it so grow up thanks
I have the patience and I'm always down for learning it's people who treat things as if they know everything trying to make folks feel stupid because they are trying to learn an get information so they have to be jerks which I do not have patience or tolerance for because I'm on here to share to discuss and to even learn in regards to coins and the jerks that have to comment rude things is what makes it difficult to actually talk about coins on a mature for knowledge basis but yes I can ignore an avoid them an will because I'm better than that an my purpose for joining coin talk is for information and mature opinions so yes I will not be discouraged by them and will continue discussing coins and thank you for your blunt yet appropriate comments and opinions much appreciated
Misspriss, no one here was rude. The people who frequent this site are incredibly knowledgeable, and WILL NOT lie to you. And why would they? These are people who know much more than you do. No one was condescending, besides you. Your fragility speaks volumes. Be nice, or no one will even consider to answer you anymore.
Welcome aboard Misspriss . I think you posted your first thread about a month ago, or so. Hang in there won't you. I have been here only about a year myself. It get's much better.
Dear MissPriss I completely understand where ur coming from I know u just want to learn more about coins but some just want to be smarta** ******* ****** I personally feel that you really have something here with your silver penny that obviously has not been coated or colored post mintage like some of these ******* yahoos are saying it's a real diamond in the ruff if you will please please do not get discouraged hang in there MissPriss
I am curious white ger shep. Several o p's have posted coins that have no added value. Or they mistakenly think they have a rare doubled die ect. ect. When a member with VAST knowledge answers op question, you consistently argue the answer given is wrong. You claim the op's coin has some astronomical intrinsic value no one else sees. This is not about evaluating 'feelings'. These are people with vast knowledge who give FREE appraisals of the coin in question. I feel you are misleading people who came here for REAL information. whyyyyyyyy re you doing that ?
Lots of honest opinions/answers have been given. No reason for anger. The coin was altered in some way to give it the look it has now. It didn't come from the mint looking that way.
Here is a heads up on my next question to you. You told Misspriss her 1972 silver lmc left the mint in the condition it is currently in. That there was no alteration done upon it. Would you please give citation of your source of information upon which you base your claim ? thnx...martha
Your angst with me is certainly not without merit, Martha. And a reassessment of this penny in question, does of course reveal that it has been toyed with post mintage. I find myself wanting to come to the aid of posters in duress, regardless of how warranted the lambasting may be. No matter how frustrating the MissPriss' of the world may sometimes be, they still need a good friend or two in their corner from time to time. As a quick aside, I absolutely love your posts, Martha Lynn!!
