I have a 1990 Lincoln cent that I believe that would grade a minimum of an MS-65. I think it has a good shot at am MS-67 IMHO.

I just want to send to coin to one of the top 4 grading companies...don't care which one...

I know I need memberships for NGC and PCGS, but is ther any way I can just mail them this one coin?...also..do I need a membership for ANACS or IGC?

and lastly, when I do mail out, what do I have to send the coin in? right now it is sealed in an airtite.

This was in another thread. NGC you need to be in their "club", it's like $99/year or something. Then PCGS has three levels you could join http://www.pcgs.com/join/index.chtml

And then I know ICG has a $15 signup fee, because I spoke with a representative or someone who's in customer care. They turn around and use that $15 to give you free submissions or something.

    I'm not sure about ANACS

I may go with ICG then..thanks

On a side note...say if this coin comes back a MS-67 or better..would it still have been worth it to get it graded?

Because it is my birth year cent, and it is my favorite cent I have in my collection...I just want to make it have the best protection, and I want to see how good my grading is...If it comes back at least an MS-67 like I think it will...then I am doin pretty good

Stainless, you can submit coins to NGC so long as you belong to eBay. See:

    http://www.ngccoin.com/ebay_ngcvalue.cfm

FYI, by the time you are done, you will probably have spent more on shipping than you did for the certification.

PCGS lists a 1990 Lincoln in MS-65 at $12. Now, if it comes back as an MS-67 ($55), then it might be worth the price of having it slabbed.

Anthony, if you belong to the ANA you can submit coins directly to NGC. Hobo can give you all the details.

Be daring. Try DGS mentioned elsewhere on Coin Talk.

Neither NGC/NCS or ANACS charge a fee for submission privileges. I submit to NGC all the time via ANA membership.

One thing to remember - for "economy" grading, you usually have to submit multiple coins.

NGC : 5 coin minimum, $16 / coin, 21 day turnaround (I have found them to be faster than that)

ANACS : 5 coin minimum, $12 / coin, no turnaround time quoted (I have found them to be slow)

PCGS : No minimum quoted (used to be 10), $18 / coin, 30 day turnaround (They will use every minute of it)

Why don't more people use this or are they unaware? That's pretty nice of them to allow that. I guess one less advantage to being an ANA member if you can do it this way? Is there any difference?

Hey Stainless , if you don't want to bother with Ebay then here's a birthday present I'd like to offer you. I'd be glad to get you an MS66/67 NGC or PCGS 1990 off of Ebay for somewhere between $10-20 and send it to you. I'll throw in the shipping as a birthday gift. PM me if it sounds good !!

no not yet...my b-day isn't for a while yet. I got this coin a while ago from my birth year set from when I bought when I first started collecting and took it out because I liked it.

    thanks for the help all
