It is in great condition to be in circulation. To me it looks as part of the uncirculated mint set. It does not seem to have the mirror-like of a proof, but then again, it might be the light effect of this picture. Nice find.

Thinking of it... the proofs are from San Francisco in these coins. So this being a D (Denver) in that condition, must be part of the mint set :)

If it was an FS-101 I'd say yes; mint state examples are worth > $1000. The FS-102 variety doesn't bring much of a premium so I'd say no to getting it graded/certified since your cost would probably be what it's worth slabbed.

  7. I thought the fs 102 variety was the most Rare one of the 2 varieties....

    Denver never made proofs.
Nice coin. Put it in a 2x2 flip to protect it.

  10. I put it in a plastic slab and I might even get it graded

It's very expensive to get a coin graded. If it is MS 65 it's a $6 coin and you will have spent A LOT more than that. Yes if it comes back 68 you are OK, but that
is not likely unless the coin is nearly flawless.

Looking at the FS-101 and FS-102 examples in the Great Collections archive I don't think that yours matches either variety.
