You have a normal steel cent that has been plated to look like a 1943 bronze cent.

I don't thinks it's been plated because it's not shiny like a plated or polished coin it's a dull looking light gold kinda what a penny struck over a dime about that same color.... I didn't know but they had a silver steel penny and it loos alot like it.... I guess we will know when it's gets back from pcgs ..... Thanks for the info

There is no such thing as a silver steel cent. There could be a 1943 cent struck on a silver dime planchet, but then it would be the size, weight and thickness of a dime and not magnetic. Plating doesn't have to be shiny, and a dime is silver colored, not copper colored. It is absolutely a copper plated steel cent, it is very common. You are throwing money away if you send it to PCGS, but it is your call.

You have so much to learn. Then it would be the same size and weight of a silver dime. That would be 2.5 grams. The weight of a normal steel cent is 2.8 grams which is all you have. And lastly.. A silver dime Planchet is not ferromagnetic which means it would not stick to a magnet such as the steel Cent would.

Can't wait to see your results!

It looks like the zinc is showing thru whatever was put on the coin to make it look copper. It was probably put back in circulation for a while and part of the copper wore off.

He found the roll using its desert fork for salad and it’s salad fork for dinner. Don’t even get me started on what it was doing with the fish fork.

Would it possible to show pics that were a tad more unfocused?

That coin has been plated and it's starting to wear off. By sending to PCGS you have wasted your money. It will not straight grade.

Probably because they earn a little bit of money if enough people watch their videos.

There are examples of off metal coins such as a cent struck on a planchet sized for a dime and thus the design is incomplete because the dime is much smaller.
    example ;
    https://www.coinworld.com/news/precious-metals/cent-struck-on-dime-planchet-headed-to-auction.html

And there are others known that were non-mint made counterfeits in various metals , and the majority are plated. It was common in the 60s-70s and many are still seen. It even appeared in ads from coin magazines.

They do not furnish the steel cent or they would be guilty of federal laws.

Also in the 60-70s high school chem labs upped their 'sputnik' response to enhance response to USSR science, so more experiments were done and this one resulted in thousands of plated cents. Zinc and Copper were cheap and easy ones to do.

    https://www.sciencecompany.com/Turn-Copper-Pennies-Into-Silver-and-Gold-Pennies.aspx

Also many Utubs and other such disregard the fact that Zinc is not real Silver, they just go by "Silver" as a color to grab the uninformed.

    IMO, Jim

Why does the coin have the color of a copper coin? There is no such thing as a steel silver dime.

Is this it? If so then you need to pay more attention to the video. It is about cents struck on silver dime planchets not silver steel cents. As explained above, numerous times, if it was struck on a dime planchet it would be silver, smaller than a cent, thinner than a cent, the weight of a dime, and non magnetic. Your coin does not meet any of these criteria.
