I hope the protestors succeed. After all, the Mint has been holding us up for years, I think turnabout is fair play.

I guess his "magick" didn't work aye?:D The "wizard" appeared to be one of their spokespeople or something. Great. Notice his sidekicker is a butterfly.

It makes you wonder why some people feel threatened by peaceful protest. I think they are probably a bunch of wannabes. In the 1960s, Abbie Hoffman led a group of 50,000 demonstrators who surrounded the Pentagon and tried to levitate it by chanting. It didn't work then either. Amazingly, the police and military who "protected" the Pentagon from the huge "mob" didn't feel nearly as threatened by it as the Denver police are by the butterfly and wizard.

I'd rather have them work on levitating the skill of the Mint engravers so they stop putting out so many ugly coins.

    I don't feel threatened; I'm amused !

My best friend from college got his PhD from UCal Berkeley. He expressed chagrin at the protest freak show (his words).

I asked him "What are they protesting ?"

He answered "What DON'T they protest ? It's all a big sham. On schedule, they all show up and stomp their feet about something. Nothing ever happens. Most people just ignore 'em.

And here's the best part... when the screaming is done, the police say 'All right, any one who wants to be arrested form a line over here.' They all walk down to the station, get booked :hammer:, then immediately released."

It's their Red Badge of Courage ! They can say "I got hassled by The Man !". :rolling:

    Posers.

They haven't figured out what everyone else knows... this isn't the 60s. Abbe Hoffman is out. Marxism is dead. Move on.

Actually, Abbe is dead and Marxism is out (though hanging on here and there.)

Perhaps, an organisational rally should be held to that effect. We could call it Citizens Concerned About Our Cr&ppy Coinage and dress up in colourful costumes and try to levitate the US mint in Philly. We might have to hang out for awhile, in order to get the press onto the story. Perhaps we should burn effigies of the Mint Director, and the Secretary of the Treasury.;)

Who is going to wear the wizard's suit and who will wear the butterfly outfit?

People like that which are involved in that gathering are the reason the elections have deteriorated into the total joke they are and what we're now left with this cycle. A circus in which no truly informed person would care to be involved with.

    Hopefully none of them reproduce.

Here's hoping next time they succeed and shake out some 14-d lincolns for the masses, or a better feat of magic would to shake out some vdb s's, now that'd be impressive

Not sure if everyone was aware. During there demonstration the MInt was shut down. They where not minting any coins as they were doing there annual maintenance on there machines.

    Now that is funny!
