I know it is hard to tell...but it is really shiney, yet has no cartwheel luster..idk though what do you think it grades also:
Without a better picture its to hard to tell. is the coin this dark in person? Does it have any of the obvious telltale signs of a cleaning? swirls, hairlines, dark spots on the crevices etc. Sorry no help here with this one buddy.
that's what I was thinking...maybe it was dipped or something.. does it lower the value? thx for the help stainless
I rubbed a coin with ciggerette ashes(washed it after wards) and left it alone for a while a while and looks kinda like that.
Sometimes I'm completely amazed by what people do to coins. Something like this wouldn't cross my mind in 1000 years.
a freind told me about doin that, so I gave it a try on a modern cent. gave it a nice shine lol, not that I recomend it though.
It was an interesting experiment. Maybe we should all go around the house and try every conceivable substance to determine what does what to coins. Maybe someone will uncover the secret to "conserving" coins.
Try blowing cigarette smoke at a nice proof coin. After you do that I have a nice bridge for sale in Brooklyn, NY cheap!
