I have a few shots for you guys. I am wondering if this is actually a D over horizontal D. I just found it moments ago and went straight here. Also, two of these kind of resemble the 1943/2 error This I am probably imagining the doubled EYE variety. This one is hard for me to identify in general. Not likely anything Anyway, let me know if any of these are errors I am hunting for. Thank you guys so much for your help
Hm. I thought the 42,43,44 were war nickels with the mint mark over the dome, not next to the building. The red book says they relocated the mint mark in October of 42. If that is the case, are there 42's with mint marks possible in both locations ? Now I am cornfused. One more cup of coffee perhaps .
Wartime Silver Alloy Nickels were first struck on Oct. 8th 1942. Both prewar composition and silver alloy were struck in 1942. If you have a Red Book you can check mintage of both types.
