AJ... it has just occurred to me that coin looks a lot better than the one I sent to you. teehee... jeankay
In that case, should Jack keep your' coin and send you one of his' VG-08 specimens that he has lying around collecting dust?:rolling: Just thought I would ask!dd::goofer: Great find by the way and many, many congrats! Frank
AJ wouldn't do that would he? Awww... you're just trying to rattle my chain... shake my cage... Well you can't do it... so there... teehee. jk
Thanks rzage, My hubby says I cannot sell it because it is part of our retirement fund. Okay, good enough for me. I am retired on disability, and Bob supports me very nicely. Now I need to find one I *can* sell... ha! If that were ever to happen I think I would lose all my fun friends on CT. I can't do that! It looks like I will need to get a fireproof safe for my most important coins and find a way to get insurance that won't cost as much a year as the coin is worth. Aarrgghh! Another obstacle. jeankay
Hi Jeff the 'silvurluvr'... Great Idea! I didn't think of that! Yep, a much better picture by far. Now, I just need to figure out how to get the pic AJ sent and squeeze it down to the proper size and to get it in that tiny little space. This is going to be much more difficult than looking through 50k of Lincolns. jeankay
Thanks mralexanderb and tcore. I couldn't have done this at all without AJ's encouragement and support! It sure is nice to have such good friends! jeankay
I've been wanting to say this all day but have just now gotten the chance. Congratulations on a great find Jeankay....couldn't have happened to a nicer person.:smile
Aw gee Green18, Thanks bunches... You have all been such champions of numismatics to me and others. Great place to be in the company of such friends. jeankay
Man jeankay, you want to come over and search a few cent rolls for me? Maybe you'll find me a GEM R one, lol. Congrats on the great find, and the grade!! :thumb: Not bad for 6 cents, lol. :thumb: Phoenix
I remember when she first posted the pic. It seemed to good to be true. The pessimist in me kept finding reasons to think it was not the real deal, but hey, as soon as I had it in hand, it looked good, so off to PCGS it went. Besides, it was pre-screened by a dealer I would trust with this sort of thing. Now for JeanKay, lucky this is not the CU forums where the vultures would be circling above and filling your PM box with lowball offers.
Hi Phoenix... If it wasn't about 2800 miles to your place I would pop over in an instant to help you search. Or, you could send the cents to me and I would happily search them. ;o) This coin came about after searching... say, conservatively, 50,000 or more cents over the time period I have been working on this addictive hobby. And, by the way, I am re-searching all my cents and have found some really good rpm's that have been there all along, I just didn't see them the first few times I looked. Don't give up on the ones you have. Thank you for taking an interest. jeankay
AJ, I think I would know a vulture when I saw one... oh, there goes one now... he/she knows I won't give up this coin to a con. Might have to buy me one of those scatter-guns that work to scatter coin-cons. After all the coin dealer only offered me 50$ for it while he was grinning ear to ear. I know he was teasing. Sure wish you could have seen his face while he was looking at it. And, to top it off, showing it to his partner and watching JB's face at the same time was like going to a real good comedy show. Priceless, to say the least. Maybe they will show me more respect if I go back there again. Maybe? By the way, I never have told them your name... teeheeheeheehee.. jk
Congratulations Jeankay on your good find, all though's hours serching finally paid off for you,it give's every one hope.Regards Harry
LOL, I will be sure to mention you ( with your permission of course) to " coin dealer X " when in Long Beach, and divulge the grade. I will " tease" and " grin ear to ear " when I tell him I upped his offer to $75 and you jumped at it.
