I think local CS here are cash only. If there are well known repeat customers, they may make exceptions with checks, but generally no.
Me too. I've been the victim of theft more than once. Once my bicycle was stolen, another time my debit card got skimmed at the gas pump.
I take checks from people at coin shows if a dealer I know well can vouch for them. Never had a problem, and will continue the practice. Just like diamond dealers in NYC doing $Millions of business with a handshake.
