It weighs 10.3grams the rim looks smaller like a wrong planchet. I was comparing the half dallor with a different half dallor. 15825918493656912445517995168441.jpg 15825918493656912445517995168441.jpg 15825913708677470232343626478716.jpg 15825914330284388489895686130627.jpg 15825914885037650586448394920892.jpg

The possible error one is 29mm then the regular one is 30mm

The ridges on the edge of the error coin are not anymore worn than the regular coin.

The possible error one seems to be a little less thick.

Not sure. Does it sound hollow? I've found a few dozen magician's halves and they all way about that.

Me and my parents agree that it does not sound hollow

I've been researching that in 1974 the mint made coins for the Bahamas that has the same weight and diameter.

Try another half dollar. The one you are comparing it to looks damaged.

Being a smaller diameter and fully reeded is weird.

Fair point. Note that 29.6mm is 1.0mm less than standard. The other coin at 30.6mm is absolutely correct. Being 10.3g and fully reeded is weird. Being 10.3g and not hollow is weird.

OP - in terms of not sounding hollow. If you drop the half on a hard surface like a counter top, does it sound the same as a ‘normal’ half? I’m stuck on a magicians coin. 10.3g is spot on.

One of the methods of separating the 2 sections of a magicians coin is to place it in a jar and shake it. The moment will cause both pieces to come apart.
