Here she is , I know the picture is bad but at least you can see the grade. Another rushed picture -

Graded VF30 by PCGS - ,personlly I think they were right on but the coin does have great eye appeal which gives a bump in value in my opinion & probably most others.

As Doug stated once you get into circ grades the TPG's are all over the place. I totally agree with him.....again:rolleyes:

My estimate was TPG VF30, EAC net 25. What do you think ? With coin in hand, what do you think about the all-important planchet ?

It looks pretty good - very, very good for 1793. Is that a bit of porosity on the reverse just to the right of CENT ? How about near the rim at 5 o'clock - right of the fraction, southeast of the stem - is that post-mint bangin' or a little pre-strike planchet unevenness ? Or nothing at all ?

Yeppers, I'm sure that's one premium copper ya got there. I'm trying to learn more about these EACs... complex world, that's for sure.

That's darn nice for a 30! Way smooth planchet. Choice!

Yes the coin has some minor porosity and a minor planchet flaws in the areas you pointed out.

To point out what I was saying and further people's education about grading these, look at these examples and you tell me how they compare to the coin budgood posted - and to each other in regard to grade. For whatever it's worth, IMO, only 1 of the following coins is graded correctly.

    Example 1

    Example 2

    Example 3

Well to me the first coin was struck with rusted dies, the second coins looks like the surfaces are porous and the third coin must be the one you think is graded correctly. So details wise in my opinion the 1st and 3rd are graded correctly - where the first coin should have a deduction for the pits? Correct. The second coin is just flat out porous or had something done to the surface.

On this coin originally posted - Is the planchet flaw that mentioned covering the lower third of the reverse? To me that looks more like a weak strike versus planchet flaw. To me the pitting looks like it came from a rusted or crumbling die.

    Examples 1, 2, and 3... ascending order !

#1 is just flat out overrated - with a CAC sticker !

#2 has much to recommend it. Wonderful relief, especially on the obverse. What a shame the worst pits are right behind Liberty's eye. Tough placement. Even so, what a wonderful coin. This one has the most detail. The reverse is terrific.

#3 is the best coin; it has the best planchet by far. That funk at 10 o'clock on the obverse looks liek a die crack, not a planchet flaw.

This is where I think the minor planchet flaw is - between the stem and the A and between the C and the rim.
