I like these. Generally not a good idea to post twice. Way to get a rough value would be to either check on ebay sold prices or just google it and see what pops up on the first couple of sites. For coins, condition is VERY important, and a worn coin may be moderately worthless whereas an uncirculated example might be pricey.

Anyone else seeing that die crack running from the bottom of the 2 to the top left of the E in PFENNIG?

Thank you for advice. I have yet to wrap my head around the art of grading. Would this be one worth sending off?

I thought it was a PMD scratch at first glance but it definitely looks like a proper die crack to me.

I was curious about that too. Should I add a few photos to show that portion of the coin better? Thanks for your help! :)

No. This is a very common series, and not too good of condition. Maybe XF-45 if I were to guess. Take my guess with a grain of salt though, as german coins are not quite my fortae.

Sure! I love to see errors! Even minor ones like this. I mean my profile picture is a DDR I discovered myself a bit ago.

That sure is a nice die crack! It stretches through the E and into the rim too!

Great coin, looks like a solid XF. I like the die crack. Also, the mint mark is just C. There's always one on both sides. C mint mark is for Frankfurt. More that C doesn't always mean Frankfurt and it's dependent upon the years.

Beautiful die crack, but I don't think that even with the error it would warrant sending off. Keep it in a 2x2 and enjoy!

1874-C minted in Frankfurt as others have said. Better condition but still a common date. Maybe a couple dollars retail IMO. Based on my experience, die breaks are not that unusual on early German Empire coins. I have a number of them in my 1pf-10pf date sets. A lot of them are from the eagle feathers to the rim on the post 1890 large eagle type
