Cool thread. After @physics-fan3.14 and @green18 show theirs, I have one I just recently sent in to add to the fun.
I just got an e-mail from them that I can apparently get on the WaitList but can't submit coins right away.
Every collector goes through that. Ask for the application, send it in and you can submit after that.
I think it is a 64 and graded 65 does not deserve a green bean. Certainly, if I was in the Morgan market, I would not buy this coin at a 65 CAC price.
Summary Rd. 1: 1921 MS 65 Green CAC Morgan--> Yes: 4 vs No: 3 Green CAC on coin and deserves it: 1 Green CAC on coin and doesn't deserve it: Gold CAC on coin and deserves it: Gold CAC on coin but should only be Green: Gold CAC on coin but should not sticker: Failed to sticker but deserves a sticker: Failed to sticker and should not sticker: Unknown sticker status and deserves a sticker: Unknown sticker status and does not deserve a sticker:
I was on the fence for this Morgan (that's why I picked it). There aren't any major hits but the eye appeal is below average in my opinion (it looks stained) and there are a few unattractive spots. I'd probably call it a "C" coin for the grade and wouldn't sticker it. I definitely wouldn't pay any premium on it. @physics-fan3.14 you are up. @green18 you're on deck
I'll say no CAC I don't like the spots and the dirt trapped in the crevices on the obverse. Also, the reverse isn't that attractive (at least to me); the attached material / spot (?) and the rim ding at 7 o'clock bother me too
The coin looks like it has been tidied up/conserved. I would say no sticker, if it has one I would personally disagree based on that factor.
I would say did not CAC because of an old cleaning/restore. Gorgeous but I believe it should not CAC. I have one if i could get in line?
I agree with the grade but no bean. The reverse rim ding at K7 and the numerous small circulation hits and scratches on the obverse add to that to move it into the C category.
No CAC on 1835 50c. / C coin due to spots. spotted coins a tough sell, it’s like dog u would get in old sight unseen teletrade days. agree with grade from tech view
I'll say no CAC for the bust half. A spot on the reverse and a planchet impurity across the eagle would make me look for another AU50.
