so i have come upon this half because of roll searching and was wondering if there are any resources out there the mint mark and trust appears to be doubled. Thanks.
I can see the doubling on the MM but not the rest. Maybe another angle will show it better? :kewl: So, are you resorting to rolling loose change to make ends meat? This is twice that I've caught you doing something not normal for you. First it was copper, rolling your pennies I guess, and now we've caught you rolling halves. You need to get a job so you can get back to normal (normal for you), cause you're starting to act normal (like other peeps) and I can't take much more of this. Ribbit
dont worry teletrade is dangling a carrot in front of me so we shall soon see maybe a little gold to remember the good old times you think?
I've searched 25K in halves since the first of the year, and found two 74 DDO's. The first time you find one there is no question. The doubling shows most prominently on the U. Heritage has sold a couple. Run a search in their auction archives. From the pic's, it's hard to tell.....but I would guess that this is not a DDO.
you have solved it i got some regular 1974 D as well. it is no question when you compare the two the doubling is very easy to distinguish. Thanks Toad no need for me to stop roll searching. with all those rare lincolns,IHC, ( AJ calls it the best bag he has seen and he gets them truckload) and now this. bye bye gold and in comes roll
As for the OP, it is almost certainly not the DDO. On the DDO the MM is NOT doubled, so I'm led to believe this is strike doubling.
It's highly educational and you should continue. :thumb: Ribbit Ps: If you are roll searching, you aren't blabbing on here but if you are blabbing on here, you aren't roll searching. So don't think you've fooled us. We know you have looked at all of 7 coins and rolls didn't come into play.
Agree.....Until I found the first one, I kept comparing to examples from Heritage......saw several that showed strike doubling.....
