Hard to tell from those photos. Please take the full image, both sides, and crop out the background. Then post. We need to see the entire coin. Welcome to CT.
At this level of magnification, your question is almost futile. This is common on Die Deteriorated coins. Step away from the 200X magnification and just take a photo with your cell phone. It's a spender.
Coins are looked at thru a 10X loop at the most. I use a 4X. New from the mint has zero bearing on value in this instance. A late die state coin, and Die Deterioration are not terms of circulation but the conditions of the dies when the coin was struck.
The first pic looks like a grease filled die. The second pic is where the reeding of another quarter came in contact with your pictured coin. Missing letters in the motto is nothing more than novelty and commands no real premium.
Welcome to Coin Talk. Photos don't show enough of the coin to give a definite evaluation. From what I can see it looks like your coin was struck with a grease filled, deteriorated die.
grease filled die with die deterioration and mechanical doubling; and a bad bag mark on the cheek? Can we see some real pictures of the full coin front and back ?
Welcome to CT. As stated, we can't determine much with your photos. FULL IMAGE, in focus, correctly orientated, cropped so just the coin shows, both obverse and reverse, and then close ups any any areas of question. My first impression is a possible clash but without seeing the entire coin, a definite conclusion can't be made.
So, you lied in your first comment above. Okay! I'll be blunt. You are in no position to be looking for a "discovery" coin when you don't know what a normal coin is supposed to look like. If you had asked, "What caused this?", I would have responded differently. No! You thought you had a "discovery" coin and wanted to know what it was worth. If you had asked a reasonable question, I would have given you a reasonable answer. ~ Chris
Has anyone noticed every other quarter in existence when the face is in the upright position and flipped the back is face up why??? Why on this only 2020 bear quarter is it upside down??? Could this be a misprint?
I see this is your first post. Please start a new thread with a photo of the obverse and reverse. Welcome to CT. Click on forums then click on the correct sub forum. At the top there will be a small blue box that says start new thread.
If it pleases you it's a keeper. You may learn from others but the most valuable opinion is your own...
