I tend to agree. I'm reading a wonderful book about Lincoln entitled "Team of Rivals"... how Lincoln formed part of his cabinet with the three rivals for the 1860 Republican Presidential nomination. Fascinating book. And yes, Lincoln was an awesome man. Isn't this a bit extreme ? Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison, Jackson, Roosevelt I, Roosevelt II... Figureheads ? Milquetoasts ? Perhaps we can "praise Caesar" without slamming all others, eh ?
I think that's cool. It's time for fresh designs. I like several on the Numismaster page. :thumb: Some of the ones which look good in drawings 4" in diameter won't look good on a small coin.
Nah, After the 2009 commems let the cent die. I would be perfect timing and would let the cent go out with a bang.
That particular book has the distinct honour of being a "dinner table" book. Only the best books have that distinction in my house. But back to milktoast presidents, Coolidge, Fillmore, Harding... all whom will be commemorated on coins soon. I wonder if someone is going to come up with a Sexy Dollars idea along the lines of the Sexy Quarters that are currently being made? Could be a good idea, profitable anyway, commemorating Presidential trysts.
