I dont know if this would even be considered news but I just got off the phone with the US mint. They told me that they have stopped production of the 2008 Proof Silver American Eagles- They are having a shortage of the planchets & will be using them for the bullion coins rather than the Proofs- So if you have these they just might go up in value due to this- ..... or the mint could change their mind like they have done so many times before & get the probelm fixed. But for now thats the news I have heard.
mintage quite high mintage at over 700,000 for american eagle silver proof is considered very high as compared to other years of that series. don't make a mistake. the mint stop it. mainly because the price is quite old and never adjusted recently. check the w unc silver eagle at $25.95. the proof series should have been $33.95 or $35.95 each.
kona: Bullion are just regular one ounce silver. Proofs are highly polished planchets, made for collectors.
