I found a 1945 wheat penny with what i believe is a strike through error. the AMER is missing in America. Any idea of the coins worth?
Looks like a filled die, or more probably, a slightly weak strike. Notice the 'weak' area on the reverse is opposite the deepest portion of Lincoln's head on the opposite side. If it's a filled die (struck thru grease or machinery oil), it wouldn't have much value - these are still easily found, as you did, on older coins, including wheat rev. cents.
Welcome to CT. Nice find and while I'm not the expert Fred is, I agree that it appears to be a grease filled die strike. A nice example to keep.
