1945 wheat penny strike through error!

    Looks like a filled die, or more
    probably, a slightly weak strike.

    Notice the 'weak' area on the reverse
    is opposite the deepest portion of
    Lincoln's head on the opposite side.

    If it's a filled die (struck thru grease or
    machinery oil), it wouldn't have much
    value - these are still easily found, as you
    did, on older coins, including wheat rev. cents.

    Welcome to CT. Nice find and while I'm not the expert Fred is, I agree that it appears to be a grease filled die strike. A nice example to keep.
