Hi there i received this coin as a gift and am really hopping to get some more infomation about it. I Did some research on the marks and found that they are called chop marks made by the merchants that received it after they have weighed it and checked the right silver content of the coin. besides that i don't much more like its worth or where's its minted at?

    Thanks for any help!

Your coin was minted in Lima, Peru. That is what the I.J. is on the reverse.
I can't speak for the authenticity of your coin though. Have you weighed it? What is the diameter?

That one certainly saw some use in its day. You are correct about the chop marks. I have several of these with a few chip marks but none with so many. @furryfrog02 is correct. These aren’t rare however that doesn’t prevent the Chinese from banging out fakes. Yours appears correct to me, but that is just my gut feel. See if a magnet will stick to it. If not, I would bet yours is genuine. These were also legal tender in early America too. Nice piece.

Thank you for the information. If authentic how much is it worth with having nearly 100 different chop marks in it at my best attempt to count them all. Any ideas?

I would be a buyer in the $80.00 range. That's just me. They can range from about $65.00 to upwards of $200.00.
