A friend of my daughter's is getting divorced and told my daughter she had several hundred dollars in change she needed to go through and really didn't want to. Of course my daughter told her that I would be glad to look at it. So far I have only done the quarters, and they REALLY are pocket change. I did use it as an opportunity to finish my State Series Collection that has been gathering dust. I was missing 17 quarters and found 15 of them (all P mint coins...I'm in CA). I still need Oklahoma and Arizona P mint quarters.

In going through the quarters, I was actually impressed with the quality of the coins. Seeing as how now we have crappy Zincolns, quarters are impressive. Even the 1965 coins looked decent. I also found $3 in Canadian quarters, a 1980 1G Dutch coin and a 2004 20 sen Malasia.

I have an AU58 circulation set, from Pocket change. 99-2018, also an MS set.
The pre 98 are disappearing from circulation lately, I don't see many of them even in Denver. One almost has to find coins in the first 3 months from release to put together an MS set.

Yeah, one of the things I was hoping for, but no joy...

Was it change that was being saved thinking they were possibly some collectible coins or just random pocket change? I am embarrassed at how much random change I have accumulated. Too embarrassed to even take it to my bank and I refuse to use a coin machine. So if you need a really big challenge.....

Random pocket change from several years, cents, nickels, dimes and quarters each in separate ~1 gallon containers.

Do you use self-checkout kiosks on a regular basis? I try to put in a handful of change every time I use one. Even if you normally pay with a card, you can pay part of your bill first with cash.

I look through the change it gives me, I spend my change on 50C refreshments at the cheapest place in town hopefully I get a few good cents. and a nickel.

My girlfriend has been to several coin shows and has a jeff nickel set. The other day she was making change for my $50 bill but was short a dollar. She fished a dollars worth of change out of her purse. Out came a 1946 nickel. I told her I was scolding her for not picking this out of regular change to save. LOL
