I'm wondering what's going on with the rims on 2 dimes the first (3 pics showing the split/doubling start to finish) seems to split or is doubled. The second (2 pics for each side of the coin) the rims are different on each side of the coin both obverse and reverse so 4 different shapes.

Misaligned dies. Minor error and fairly common.

Correct. Misaligned Die strike. Aka MAD strikes.
Coomon issue on many Dimes I have noticed.

Doesn't add any extra value. I used to collect pennies with this error, until I noticed I was taking 1 in every 10 pennies out because of a common error.

That would cause on one side of the coin to have a flat rim on one side and rounded on the other and the same coin on the reverse to be flat on one side and triangular one the other?

Nope, they are all telling you the same story. I wouldn't believe them if I were you.

But really those are the result of mis aligned dies, very common on clad dimes.

This is not what you have, but something else that can happen to rims that you might be interested in.
