tehre is a variety for your 1864 known as 1864 L http://www.coinfacts.com/small_cents/indian_head_cents/1864L_cent.htm
Is the '64 a CN (Copper-Nickel) or Bronze? If Bronze, is it an 'L' or a 'No L'? '72 is rare. Only 4 million minted. Grey Sheet is $78 in Good. Check your '08 & '09 for mintmarks. Those would be valuable.
my eyes are doing the shimmy. since i will post more than 130 pics for this thread and over a 1000 pics for the other threads upto 1933. i will let you experts guide me
i am not going to make any guesses you guys let me know (it looks copper nickel felt cold all other coins were warm except the 63) i just figured out the 72 is rare the 8 and 9 have no mintmarks i checked already
ok here are some pics let me know if somethign jumps out anything to be slabbed anything to be cleaned (preserved ) etc et you guys know the drill
thats a dateless try to figure that out i need to know the date it might be more valuable than the 72 i dont believe its a cheap non collectible coin or it would not be in that bag
Well, considering the condition, I doubt even if you could see the date that it'd be worth much. The 72 is pretty rough, considering all the green on it... well, you actually might want to eh... preserve it. but either way, I dont think that will command a premium as much as one that was more worn down, but no green.
put it in a 2x2 and send it to me. but seriously... I dunno, bathe it in something to get the green off? lol
I dunno man >_< there are a couple posts in these parts about how to get green off. http://www.cointalk.org/showthread.php?t=39101 maybe someone else has another idea. Although Im sure you'll get plenty of responses to leave it alone. how do we see the date on that other one? no idea! the '64 variety has to be in XF or so to be able to see it. (its a little "L" near the ribbon)
this coin is valuable and if i screw up then its 400 bucks in fine condition makes this a candidate for NCS?
