This penny appears to have doubling on both sides of the coin. The letters are overlapping on the word Liberty. I'd like to see your opinions about it.
The coin is so damaged, there is no way to tell if there is a DD. As I said in the other thread this coin appears to have been trapped in a dryer between the inside compartment and the wall. Look up dryer coins. Plenty of threads and photos here about that.
Just throwing it out there. Looking at the rim, it looks a little on the thick side. Could it have been a proof?
The photos are so out of focus, I don't think we can tell anything. You could take it to a local dealer and see what he says.
@Karen Alba if you really want to try, the camera (or cellphone) must be very steady and motionless. Put the phone on an upside down water glass and place the coin where you can see it with the viewfinder. Adjust the light and shoot a picture.
