I can't exactly make out the lettering on yours. Moreover, gaming tokens were produced with a similar design bearing different lettering on the reverse. However, based on what I can tell, I'm leaning towards yours being a gaming token.

Big enough to see the words on the reverse. Proving that your coin is NOT a Guinea but a gaming token as @Bradley Trotter said.

Yup. Definitely not worth $25.
Ebay sold listings show them anywhere between a dollar and ~$10 for a group of them.

 

what's weird is I tested with my DKS purity kit came back 21?

 

These tokens were made out of brass not gold. Could have been plated at some time?

I'm an ancient 35 haha. Just a lot of googling and reading helped by a heaping dose of ADHD

 

I'd much rather have that info as opposed to sell a fake and have that bad ju-ju

 

On the bright side, at least you're not out $150.00+ as opposed to $25.
