Anyone know what happened to the Royal Mint's US website? As far as I can tell, they only have the UK site now. I'd rather not have to pay $14 to have coins shipped to me. Thanks, V.
If you don't want to order from the UK, you could try major dealers in the US. There is RSMint in Utah for example, or ECI/Downies in California. Here are their UK sections ... http://www.eurocollections.com/catalog/?category=21 http://www.rsmint.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=520 Christian
thanks, christian -- very helpful. i'm looking to pick up a proof silver britannia, but i don't see that listed under either dealer's inventory. maybe they're not available here yet? i know they're out in britain. v.
Oh yea. I meant in as far as the new toll free number. Its on the website. And they are great. The operators say things like .''Thanks for calling, love.''. and they use the terms exchange, and trunk call. THAT I havent heard since we (US) stopped using alpha-numeric phones numbers. The toll free number is 1-866-519-7298
Guess that is a way to make up for the fact that people in the US now need to order directly in the UK ... but nice. Christian
Hehe, right. Well, I usually order online, and am in the EU, which means they don't call me anything but do not charge for shipping. Great! Now when I order from the German Numismatic Office for example, I pay about €5 for domestic shipping. Delivery to the UK is about €18, US would be about €30. But I think those charges are hypothetical - hardly anybody would pay that much when the coins can be had for less from "local" dealers/distributors. Guess that is also whe Dutch Mint won't even ship to non-EU customers, the Finnish Mint does not deal with collectors outside Finland, and so on ... Christian
Hope the others won't mind us being a tad off-topic. It's http://www.deutsche-sammlermuenzen.de ... Christian
