    Another recent addition.

    Constantine the Great (as Caesar) - Follis

    Obv:– CONSTANTINVS NOB CAES, Laureate head right
    Rev:– CONSERVATO-RES KART SVAE, Carthago standing facing, head left, within hexastyle temple, holding fruit in both hands
    Minted in Carthage (// PKD). circa summer A.D. 307.
    Reference(s) – RIC VI Carthage 61

    6.04g. 23.96 mm. 0 degrees

    Some corrosion around the edges.

    Here is a CTG as Caesar from Trier.

    I have a soft spot for coins of CTG as Caesar. Here are two from Carthage:

    I don't think it's corrosion. I have seen many coins from Carthage with the same roughness around the rim. Is it possible that the flans were cast using sand molds? I would be interested in hearing other hypotheses.

    Interesting. I would expect these to have been eliminated by the strike if that were the case.
