Does ebay have any system regulating ghost/straw purchases? While checking into a seller with lower than avg. feedback, I noticed that the last 100+ transactions had all been purchased by the same buyer........looks like someone padding their feedback.

Feedbacks are calculated as one feedback per buyer so if someone purchases 3 items and leaves 3 feedbacks, it will only increase the feedback rating by 1 and the other 2 do not count.

That is unless they have changed something recently.

I remember when I had first joined ebay and learnt that the hard way...

I really wanted a good feedback score and one day I bought 3 items from this same guy...

Positives for all 3, but it only went up one...I was gutted.

That is no longer true. If you buy an item more than a week after feedback #1, your next feedback counts as #2.

I have purchased almost 100 items from ebay; yet my feedback score is only 11. LOL

Keep on buying and selling and it will go up eventually.

Mine is 3281 received and a rating of 3034.

exactly. Feedback rating is largely unimportant if all you do is buy. Its most handy for sellers who want folks to trust them. A seller with a low feedback score, and i am a bit weary, the hiogher the better for me - in general! there are always exceptions to every rule :)

My score is 345, but i have had 439 feedbacks left. I have no idea how many folks never left feedback. and i have had my fair share of repeat service fromt he same buyers. If you find one you trust, who cares about feedback!

Exactly! I have a list of "favorite sellers" in My Ebay. I usually check what they have to sell first and quite often, I spend all my money before I get out into the wilds of E-Bay!
