I just won this Iberian in auction.
Not an easy one to find in good condition.

I was so worried I would get outbid , I guess it helped that not as many people are as excited about an Iberian coin as me.

    Sexi AE unit.jpg
Spain, Sexi Æ Unit. Circa 200-150 BC. Head of Herakles left, wearing lion skin headdress, club over shoulder / Two tunny fish to left; aleph above, crescent below, Neo-Punic legend "MP'LSKS" within central frame. ACIP 819-20; SNG BM Spain 415. 13.06g, 26mm, 12h.

    Very Fine. Rare.

    From the Amilcare Collection.

    Very nice new Iberian!
Anyone know much about this collection? There's some cool coins in it. And Amilcare reminds me lots of Hamilcar... Appropriate for the apparent collection focus.

    Magnificent style and art!
I identified mine as a Gades... Though in the condition it's in it may as well be a McDonald's moon man and two French fries:

@Pellinore that one is not an easy one to find. You see a lot of the same style but not from Kontrebia Karbika ! I only have one in this style and it just happens to be from the same place !

@dougsmit @Ryro When I would metal detect in Spain I was pretty close to this settlement of Gades and found a bunch of them. the only problem was that they were cast planchets and then struck so they had a lot of porosity or air holes and were very prone to corrosion and bronze disease. So finding a good was not easy at all. I have two of these one has some kind of a counterstamp , also have some of the smaller types in size.

Ok @Bing you have got some nice ones also , I think the bottom one is a barbaric imitation of a Castulo semis . I have one of the regular and the barbaric.

@Spaniard you have some very nice Iberian coins and thank you for your kind post.

I don't have any of the coins you posted but I have been looking at a few Bolskan coins. Just waiting for the right one at the right price. the majority of my collection is Iberian or second punic war coins. I am seriously thinking about not collecting anything else and possibly selling off my others.
